To Open: Pull the handles apart and fold the scissors into the cutting position.

To Close: Use the reverse process. Fold the blades back into the grooved safety slots in the handles and push together.

Caution: Be sure that the blades are completely back in the slots. If not, the blades will be forced open when you push the handles together and you could jab your finger.

Note: Scissors are tight when new. Use a drop of household oil on them and wipe off the excess. They will loosen and slide easily when used for a while.
